Ingredient guide
GHK-Cu, the face copper peptide, explained clearly.
A focused guide to the copper-binding tripeptide behind Morren's face serums — what it is, how the four formulas differ, and how it compares with Copper Tripeptide-3, and what a daily routine can realistically promise.
What is the face copper peptide?
Also known as GHK-Cu. On the INCI panel it is Copper Tripeptide-1. It is the active that gives Morren Blue and Morren Blue Eight their colour: the copper in the peptide complex is what turns a clear solution blue. Morren uses it as a disclosed cosmetic active in face serums designed to support the look and feel of skin.
What has been studied?
This copper peptide has been studied in laboratory cell culture and in a limited number of small topical studies. That research is why it is interesting, but laboratory findings do not predict a specific result for every formula or every person.
Why the formula matters
Every Morren face formula names its cosmetic actives on the INCI panel rather than hiding them behind a proprietary blend total. Morren Blue and Morren Blue Eight are built on Copper Tripeptide-1; Renew Complex Daily and Renew Complex Intensive pair Copper Tripeptide-1 with additional peptide signals. A stronger formula does not guarantee a better individual result — pair the formula to the routine you will actually keep.
The face peptide compared with the scalp peptide
Both are copper-binding peptides, but they are used differently. Copper Tripeptide-1 is used in Morren's face serums; Copper Tripeptide-3 is used in the scalp-focused hair serums. Root Matrix combines Copper Tripeptide-3 with Copper Tripeptide-1 in one hair formula, so both peptides can appear in the same bottle.

Face serum or scalp serum, side by side
| Face serum | Scalp serum | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you apply it | Face and neck skin | Scalp skin, along the parting |
| What it is formulated for | The appearance of tone, texture and firmness | The appearance of scalp condition and fuller-looking hair |
| Copper peptide on the label | Copper Tripeptide-1 | Copper Tripeptide-3, or Copper Tripeptide-3 paired with Copper Tripeptide-1 |
| Morren formulas | Morren Blue, Morren Blue Eight, Renew Complex Daily, Renew Complex Intensive | Follicle Fuel, Root Surge, Root Matrix |
| Routine | Once or twice daily on clean skin | Once daily on dry or towel-dried scalp |
Both columns are cosmetic formulas: they support appearance, and neither is a treatment. The ingredient panel on the bottle is the part worth reading closely, because that is where the formula is actually declared.
How to choose a face copper peptide serum
Start with Morren Blue for a single-active minimalist formula, Morren Blue Eight when you want this copper peptide alongside a second signal, Renew Complex Daily for a full multi-peptide daily routine, or Renew Complex Intensive when you want the richest formula in the range.

Using a Copper Peptide Face Serum
Apply to clean, dry skin and let it absorb before heavier layers. Morning or evening both work; consistency matters more than timing. Judge appearance and feel over weeks of regular use in consistent lighting rather than day to day.
Cosmetic expectations
Morren serums are cosmetics. They are formulated to support the appearance of skin — Morren does not promise treatment, a medical outcome, or a guaranteed individual result.
